Mike’s Famous Harley-Davidson is going green.
Mike’s Famous® moved to New London, CT from Groton, CT and revamped an existing 55,000 square foot facility from one iconic brand to the next. The former Coca-Cola® bottling and distribution center which was built in 1938 was converted into one of the Northeast’s largest Harley-Davidson® sales and service facilities. The construction on this project included the major components like earthwork, sidewalks, demolition, asbestos removal, and building envelope repairs. The interior work included structural modifications and the generous use of reclaimed materials including both woods and metals to create an attractive and gritty backdrop for Harley-Davidson®.
In January 2017, the former Coca-Cola® building installed a state of the art solar system to sit atop the new roof which will sustain its electrical consumption, making Mike’s Famous Harley-Davidson nearly self-sustainable.
